The Society for the Advancement of Modelling and Simulation (SAMS) is a multi-disciplinary not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the broad use of Modeling and Simulation and Synthetic Environments within Canada.
SAMS exists to actively promote collaboration between Government, Industry and Academia, to encourage best practices in the use of modelling and simulation, and to advocate for the effective use of modelling and simulation through all areas that can improve system acquisition processes, reduce risk, and accelerate research and development.
SAMS conducts conferences, events, and member-led initiatives that advance the knowledge and understanding of Modelling and Simulation within Canada.

SAMS provides a unique environment for the development of personal knowledge and skills in the area of multi-disciplinary application of modelling and simulation. SAMS is the only organization within Canada that provides a forum for industry, government, and academia to address modelling and simulation issues across domains and to evolve best practices.
Individual SAMS members are afforded the opportunity to network and develop relationships with their peers through electronic forums and face-to-face events to maintain their awareness of the state-of-the-art and to create innovative solutions to pressing modelling and simulation issues.
